The Brisbane Excelsior Band, currently Australian and New Zealand National Champion A Grade band, is arguably one of the leading brass bands in the Southern Hemisphere.

Under the Musical Direction of Howard Taylor, we have developed as a musical entity dramatically in recent years. We regularly compete and perform in various places across Australia and overseas. In the last 4 years, XLCR has won four Australian National A Grade Championships - a record which has never been achieved by any other band in the history of Australian banding, the 2007 New Zealand Championships, 2 State Titles, and currently hold the Number 1 position as the highest ranked band in Australasia (4barsrest rankings).

Cabaret in Brass

The Kedron Wavell Services club was the venue for our hugely successful, inaugural Cabaret in Brass in 2004. Over 150 people wined, dined and danced the night away. Our resident sensational song bird, Julie Woods, was hugely popular with our dinner guests.
