Over 100 people attended KM Smith Funerals on Friday 28 July 2006, at Bowen Hills, to pay their respects and to reflect on the life and times of Colin J.
Players unite for the funeral of Colin J Thomas
A band, conducted by Howard Taylor, made up of players from Brisbane Excelsior, Ye Olde Brass, Brisbane Brass, Windsor Brass, and other independent players, joined together to play hymns and one of Colins original compositions, the march The Commander.
Rick Casagrande gave a very moving Eulogy on behalf of the Brisbane Excelsior Association.
Other tributes were given by Colin's niece, Teri, representatives from Qld Musical Theatre, the Freemasons and the Buffulo's.
